Dried organic mango strips from gebana in Burkina Faso. They are sweet, with a very low acid content. Neither sulfur nor sugar has been added.
They are inspected and sorted by hand and packed at the factory in Bobo-Dioulasso. They are grown by just over 1,600 families who are organized in cooperatives and family farms. The mango production creates jobs and income for both employees and farmers.
Burkina Faso is one of the world's poorest countries, and in recent years has been hit hard by attacks from armed Islamist groups.
Best stored in the refrigerator. When stored at room temperature they can become harder and can be softened again by soaking them in hot water for a few minutes.
