Couscous/Maftoul from Palestine

Couscous, in Palestine called maftoul, is made from durum wheat that has been shredded, steamed and shaped into small grains. It is among the healthiest cereal products and is of high quality. The Palestinian couscous is coarser, with larger grains and more fiber, and is suitable as a healthy alternative to pasta or rice.
We import couscous from Taybeh Brewing Co. who buy from the Rural Women's Development Cooperative in Taybeh, which was formed in 2005. They produce couscous using traditional methods, where it is rolled by hand and sun-dried immediately after production. The production creates work for Palestinian women in the West Bank.
Taybeh Brewing Co. was established in 1994 and sells its goods to, among others, Israel, USA, Switzerland and Sweden.
