Women's Day: Buy from the Afghan women
Look closely at the women above. They are a rare sight. Afghan women working.
The women make Herati glass, saffron and almonds and dried fruit in the three good Afghan companies we do business with. The pictures were taken just two months ago by a delegation from Eastern Europe who was in Afghanistan.
The Afghan women are worth fighting for on the Intrernational Women's Day. Because they have extremely difficult conditions. Nowhere else in the world are conditions for women so difficult. They are not allowed to be seen, they are not allowed to speak in public spaces, they are not allowed to get an education. They are lonely (see on BBC ).
And there are very, very few places they are allowed to work. But they can still work in a few private companies including our three partners: Herat Safran, Ziba Foods and Herati kunsthåndværk/Østerland,
Support the Afghan women today. On International Women's Day.
We have put both the tasty trail mix and saffron from Afghanistan on offer. The more we can sell, the more Afghan women can get work.
Thank you for trading for peace.
